On November 28, 2021, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of Macau University of Science and Technology(MUST) co-organized The Student Online Business Salon with the Professional Degree Education Center of Faculty of Economics and Management of East China Normal University(ECNU) on the theme “Corporate Strategy in the Context of New Globalization” to discuss the strategies of tourism and modern service industries in response of the epidemic. The event was participated by over 200 teachers and students through online and offline.
Dean Ben K Goh of FHTM delivered a welcome speech and hoped that the exchange and cooperation with ECNU would enrich the students' experience in academic activities and enhance their academic analysis ability. Mr. Yang Yong, deputy director of the Professional Degree Education Center of the Faculty of Economics and Management of ECNU, also expected that through this salon, the students of the two universities would have academic exchanges and discussions, and jointly explore the future development direction of tourism and modern service industries.

Six groups of students from MUST and ECNU presented their ideas regarding the strategies for the tourism and modern service industries in the context of the epidemic. Associate Professor Zhang Yang and Deputy Director Yang Yong commented on the students’ reports. They praised the theoretical research and practical exploration of the students and expected a continuous academic communication and cooperation between MUST and ECNU in the future. The students expressed that the salon had realized the brainstorming from different cultural backgrounds and had come up with a lot of new ideas and strategies. They looked forward to more ways to communicate with each other in the future.
