On October 20th, 2022, led by assistant professor Liu Jing, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management students participated in “Splendors of China” – Instilling Patriotism and Pride through In-house Education Curriculum at Grand Ballroom in Studio City Macau.
Professor Zhu Shoutong Gave a Speech
To begin with, Mr. Lok Po, Director of Macao Daily News, and Prof. Zhu Shoutong, Director of Centre for Chinese History and Culture of the University of Macau, gave a speech of Chinese culture and Chinese history. Then, drumming and Southern Style Boxing were performed by Melco Resort and Entertainment and the martial arts performed by a group of young people. The spirit of Chinese culture was promoted.

After the course, students had a deep understanding of the diversity and profoundness of Chinese culture. Not only did they appreciate Chinese culture from the perspective of Macao, but also learned that tourism is an important way of cultural dissemination. Students also felt a sense of honor and stimulated their sense of mission and enthusiasm for learning. This course also enabled students to have a broader vision and clearer planning and understanding in the development of tourism.
