The delegations formed by teachers and student team from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (F.H.T.M.) of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) attended the 96th TOSOK Conference (The 96th TOSOK Jeonnam∙Yeosu International Tourism Conference) held in Yeosu, South Korea from July 10th to 12th. The conference theme focused on strategies and innovations to promote regional tourism in the era of digital transformation. During the conference, the participating students from F.H.T.M. successfully completed their paper presentations and performed well, actively participating in discussions and ultimately winning the Best Research Paper Award.

The conference consisted of various rich and diverse sessions, including special sessions, a 50th Anniversary Symposium, plenary sessions, and international sessions. The special session, jointly hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization, the Cultural Tourism Research Institute, and Yeosu City, explored topics such as happiness and tourism, and local specialty tourism. During the conference, F.H.T.M. Associate Professor Park Sung Hee encouraged students to actively participate and present their reports, sparking great interest and lively discussion among attendees. The student team led by Assistant Professor Kim Jinok, Susanna also won the Best Research Paper Award.

The conference focused on cutting-edge topics in regional tourism development and conducted in-depth and detailed discussions and exchanges. The outstanding performance of our faculty and students won widespread recognition from scholars present and established close academic ties with scholars from various regions.
