The 1st “1+4 Industry Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Macao University Stdents” was successfully concluded on October 20 at the Macao Youth Development Service Center. Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Dr. Zhang Su from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), the “Taipa Island Party” team, comprising of senior students of FHTM, Mr. Zhang Jingyun, Ms. Zhou Yi and Ms. Chen Yu, stood out from the rest and was awarded with the Silver Lotus Flower Award.

As an important event in the year of Double Celebration, the competition aims to stimulate the innovative spirit and entrepreneurial enthusiasm of students from Macao universities and inject youth power into the diversified development of Macao's “1+4” industries. After five months of fierce competition, 25 projects from various enterprises and universities in Macao were selected through the preliminary rounds and resumed rounds to enter the Grand Final.

With their innovative planning and excellent presentation skills, the FHTM team stood out from the competition in the Chinese medicine and health industry, modern finance industry, and high-tech industry, and finally won the fifth place in the overall ranking and the first place in the comprehensive tourism competition. This award not only demonstrates the outstanding talents of the MUST students in innovation and entrepreneurship, but also their positive contribution in promoting the diversified development of “1+4” industries in Macau.
