In order to enhance the intuitive understanding of hotel operations, related services and job functions, students from the class of “Service Management in Tourism and Hotel Industries” (DE4) of Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management visited the Venetian Macao Resort at the beginning of December, 2022 under the guidance of the Assistant Professor Salott Chau. The hotel staff from various departments gave detailed explanations and answered students' questions, which enabled the students to have a deeper understanding of the operation and processes of The Venetian Resort Hotel, Macao. This visit has stimulated their enthusiasm and professional interest as well as their deeper understanding of the hotel and tourism industry.

The Venetian Resort, which planned the schedule for the visit, provided students with supreme support for the trip. The head of the training and development department for human resources gave a brief introduction of the facilities and operation of the Venetian Resort Hotel. The head of the concierge department and the luggage department then escorted the students to the baggage room, one of the Venetian Hotel's operational highlights, and explained in detail the duties and workload of the two departments.
During the tour, the students visited the hotel suites and workplaces, and were introduced to the work of the room department of the hotel. Combined with work experience, the staff creatively answered the students' questions regarding hotel operation and service, informed them of the hotel's reasonable handling of spare parts and highlighted the Sands Corp.'s involvement in charitable endeavors. Serious and caring attitude are the essence of service staff to support quality service delivery to the guests in Venetian.

Finally, the person in charge took the students to the staff working area and showed them the automated laundry room and laundry equipment, so that the students could have an intuitive grasp of the intelligent operating process of changing and picking up staff uniforms. The students greatly appreciated the opportunity for such hotel visit to Venetian resort.
Through the visit, the students had a valuable opportunity to learn about the service management and operations of the Venetian Resort Hotel. They also developed a new and intuitive understanding of the hotel.
