Rooms Management Students Visit Grand Lisboa Hotel

In order to provide students with a more intuitive understanding of hotel management and operation, on March 27, 2024, more than 40 students studying "Rooms Management" D1 class visited the Grand Lisboa Hotel in Macau recently under the leadership of Assistant Professor Salott chau of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST).

Representatives of Hotel Grand Lisboa Macau introduced in detail the background of the hotel, its establishment and its various features. The hotel is known for providing guests with the ultimate experience by far exceeding Forbes' five-star standards. Representatives from Hotel Grand Lisboa were also invited to give a guided tour of the hotel to introduce the corporate culture and working environment of the hotel to the students. In addition to introducing the exterior, interior and facilities of the hotel, the staff also highlighted the three brands within the hotel: The Grand Lisboa Macau, which is full of Western and Chinese elements inspired by the history of navigation; THE KARL LAGERFELD, which is the world's first hotel to have its interior designed by the late legendary Karl Lagerfeld; and Palazzo Versace Macao, which is the only one of its kind in Asia. The program also included a tour of the hotel suites and a visit to the famous Baroque-style Garden of Resorts in Lisboa, which gave the students a unique experience of the serenity and elegance of Lisboa.

Through this visit, students could consolidate the knowledge and theories they have learned in the classroom, and also learn practical skills from the study tours and co-learning communities outside the hotel, so as to enhance their overall knowledge and understanding of the industry, which is conducive to their long-term career development. At the same time, students gained a comprehensive understanding of the overall design concept, daily operation and management of five-star hotels. The visit was a rewarding and fruitful experience to the student participants and the visit was successful to the class as a learning opportunity.
