Macau University of Science and Technology Students Participate in the 2024 "Double Innovation Leadership Elite Training Camp"

From July 15th to 25th, 2024, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (F.H.T.M.) and Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Planning of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) organized 18 teachers and students to participate in the "Double Innovation Leadership Elite Training Camp". The training camp was jointly organized by the Greater Bay Area International Innovation Academy established by Shenzhen University and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Center, the Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Affairs Office, and the School of Management of Shenzhen University. The camp attracted 92 teachers and students from 10 universities in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau, including M.U.S.T..

At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Wong Weng Chou, the Assistant Dean of the F.H.T.M. of MUST, introduced the development of M.U.S.T. and the innovation and entrepreneurship projects. He said that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has many opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship, and each university is actively leveraging its strengths, with more cooperation space in the double innovation projects in the future.

This year's activities revolved around the "double innovation" theme, with a series of activities lasting ten days, including double innovation leadership lectures, reform and opening up cognition tours, double innovation empowerment research activities, science and innovation forums, double innovation practice training, and double innovation project roadshow competitions, etc. The aim is to promote in-depth exchange and cooperation between teachers and students of mainland and Hong Kong and Macau universities in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, and to promote mutual learning and common progress among young people in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau.

M.U.S.T. students formed teams with students from different universities in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau to participate in learning, group discussions, and one-on-one guidance from mentors, forming highly innovative and commercially valuable double innovation projects, and participating in roadshow competitions, with all participating projects winning awards. Through the exchange of this double innovation camp, the students gained a lot, not only learning in-depth the advanced experience of universities in the mainland and Hong Kong and Macau regions in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship education, but also having extensive exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship.
