The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) held the First Session of the “Chef Series” Masterclass by Michelin Star Chef Martin Rainbacher on October 8, 2024. Chef Martin was invited to demonstrate the Swiss chocolate-making process. The event attracted over 40 FHTM students.

Prof. Ben K. Goh gave a warm welcome speech to the guests and said MUST has kept enriching the student’s learning and experiences and enhancing their professional skills by offering or holding courses, master lectures, and culinary workshops. The University expects that through these, students may have the opportunity to learn from top chefs, cultivate an interest in the catering industry, and continue to delve into this field in the future.
Chef Martin Rainbacher Shared his Experiences with Students
Martin Rainbacher, the pastry chef of a Michelin-starred restaurant and a dessert-making instructor, joined the Michelin one-star restaurant Ristorante Segreto in Wittenbach, Switzerland, in January 2024. He firmly believes that baking and pastry-making processes can showcase the diversity of nature and human craftsmanship, allowing even the most ordinary ingredients to transform into works of art.
Signature Dish: Swiss Chocolate
During the sharing session, Chef Martin demonstrated his signature dish, Swiss Chocolate. This event fully integrated the making and tasting of chocolate, enabling students to understand and personally participate in the chocolate-making process, experiencing the charm of such culinary delight.
