On March 25, 2024, the DE1 class of Rooms Management led by Salott Chau to visit MGM Cotai to learn some practical operations for one of the reputable hotel in Macau. The whole class visited different areas of the hotel, including the public area of the hotel, the guest room area and the staff logistics area.

Firstly, all students went to the banquet hall to have a general and comprehensive understanding of MGM Grand China through the director's speech. The first part is about the history and origin of the MGM Grand hotel brand. The introduction conveyed the knowledge that the MGM Grand hotel brand was originated in Las Vegas, with a total of 31 hotels in Las Vegas, carrying different theme elements and different entertainment activities. Secondly, looking at the national perspective, MGM Grand has cooperated with 7 hotels in China, covering Qingdao, Hangzhou and other regions. Thirdly, there are two MGM hotels in Macau; the first one called MGM Macau is located in the Peninsula of Macau with a theme of classic bright and the second one is called MGM Cotai located in Taipa with the theme of bright visual digital effects advocating the combination of science, technology and entertainment.
First of all, the whole group visited the public area - the Shibo Square, visualizing the glass ceiling with high-end technology, the use of natural light energy-saving technology, reflecting the sustainable development element. Around the square, there are nearly 100,000 plants, and technology is also incorporated to enable automatic spraying of walls and monitoring of plant health. And then there is the special spa, with many years of five-star award service teachers, providing massage, fitness with fitness trainers, hair styling and beauty services. The combination of Buddhist elements makes the whole spa a special impression.
After that, the whole class went to the guest room section., visiting the Premier Suite. Macau beer, coffee capsules and tea bags with the MGM logo are available free of charge in the Rich minibar. One of the more special drinks is unified milk tea, because a guest used the paper and pen provided by the room to write: "I want to drink unified milk tea" before checking out, so the secret bar also added unified milk tea drink, which also reflects the hotel's guests on the service concept. There are Moutai, XO and other drinks on the side, although not free, guests can easily get it if they need it. The room is also equipped with one or two electronic machines, which can realize services such as opening and closing curtains, so as to achieve scientific and technological facilitation. If the machine is damaged, the hotel can directly contact the engineering department and the it Department to repair it by itself, which provides a lot of convenience. Similarly, the hotel's wash package is also very sophisticated, and different room types have different wash, in order of bergamot flavor Bulgari wash, cucci wash, Hermes wash.
Finally, we visited the logistics area. The first thing you see is the central kitchen, which has a clear industrial chain and routes for transporting ingredients. Then there's the uniform part. Employees follow the transfer and pick up system to handle uniform cleaning and other casual clothes laundering in a convenient and efficient fashion. As the director said, the staff logistics area is like a small town, and the decoration is colorful. In addition to the floor featuring Portuguese style, there are decorative walls that incorporate artistic elements into charity, which is the artistic creation of the old mailbox of Macao by autistic people.
