The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) hosted the third lecture of the “Seminars by the Hotel Managers” on October 29, 2021 given by Mr. Fred Wu, the Director of Human Resources of Crowne Plaza Macau, provided insightful lecture entitled “Career Development”. The seminar was sponsored by the Macau Foundation.
Mr. Fred Wu Gave a Lecture
In his lecture, Mr. Fred Wu emphasize the necessity of "Taking the initiative of career development into your own hands". Mr. Wu guided the students in four aspects: Values, Skills, Core Interests and Job; and Seeking Career Support, Mr. Wu encourage the students that they should build up diversified network from now and seek help proactively during their career development; then, be an "agile" learner, in order to keep the competitiveness in such fast-changing society, how to learn faster became a crucial issue.
After the seminar, Mr. Fred Wu answered the student’s doubts at the current career process. In addition, the speaker as an experienced human resource manager in hospitality industry, also provided many useful suggestions for the students who are interested in joining the HR department and who are about to start their hospitality career. All participants enjoyed the professional and helpful seminar.
