My doctoral journey has been an enlightening voyage through resilience and heartfelt gratitude. I am profoundly thankful to Professor Ben K. Goh, Professor Timothy J. Lee, and particularly my esteemed supervisor, Professor Yan Libo. Their endless patience, profound wisdom, and steadfast support have illuminated my path during these arduous years. My family’s unwavering support has been equally pivotal, enabling me to pursue my academic dreams. The leap from sky to academia, transitioning from a flight attendant to a doctoral researcher, presented significant challenges, notably in the realm of quantitative research. This journey, fraught with setbacks and critiques, fortified my determination. A defining moment was the rigorous scrutiny my initial research underwent regarding its contributions, implications, and the gaps it addressed. This critical thinking became the cornerstone of my research ethos, compelling me to refine my methods and directions relentlessly.

Despite setbacks, I eventually published my SSCI journal articles and secured a prestigious position on the editorial board of the International Journal of Tourism Research. This testament to my journey vividly underscores the power of resilience in surmounting obstacles.

Finally, I hope that MUST will continue to thrive and reach new heights of success

Perhaps it's my nature of chasing and embracing a simple life that led me to choose tourism management—a field dedicated to teaching the art of relaxation and the enjoyment of life. From undergraduate to doctoral studies, my academic journey has been characterized not by confusion, but by an ever-deepening passion. I owe a debt of gratitude to the teachers who supported and guided me through the challenges I encountered along the way. I am thankful for the friends who stood by me through thick and thin, and I am also appreciative of Macau for providing a beautiful backdrop to my academic endeavors.

In this moment, as I reflect on my journey, I am reminded of a Vulcan blessing: 'Live long and prosper.' To all those who have crossed paths with me and to my alma mater, I extend this wish for enduring prosperity and fulfillment.

Unconsciously, my college days are coming to an end, and although I still don't know how my future will develop, I think I must be braver than four years ago. Those days and nights, or joy, or sadness, or surprise, or regret, but together constitute the progress bar of my growth. All the scenes are still vivid, I think I will always remember those moments, and also cherish every encounter. I have more than once lamented that I was lucky to choose MUST and FHTM so that I can be full of hope and enthusiasm for my studies and life almost every day. I am also extremely grateful to the people who have crossed paths with me here, the deans and professors who have given me help and direction, the friends and classmates who have given me support and encouragement, and the time that has condensed our shared memories.

In the days to come, I think I will take the memories you give and be more determined to move forward, 「May we all become better ourselves」.

Time slips away like sand through our fingers, leaving traces of fleeting moments. Youth is like a flower blooming at our fingertips, leaving a fragrance that lasts forever! Four years have passed in a flash, from anxiety and uncertainty about the future, to today's self-confidence and firmness. I would like to appreciate this unforgettable and wonderful journey at FHTM, which has provided us with a high-level platform, given us a global vision for the industry, cultivated our professionalism and leadership skills, expanded our keen thinking and inclusive perspective, and most importantly, the eternal persistence for exploring the truth. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my teachers, family members and classmates for their kindness and support. A new journey is about to set sail, and we will keep upholding the university motto “Sincerity in Seeking Knowledge and Improvement of Ability and Quality”, never forgetting where we started, moving forward, sailing bravely and steering towards the shores of our dream!

Four years ago, we met during the early autumn sunset; four years later, we parted in the summer rain. As I looked down on the campus where I had faced numerous challenges, my heart was filled with a myriad of emotions. The fleeting years of youth and friendship coincide with our departure, leaving an indelible mark on every student's memory. Now, as I look towards the future, I am ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities. May the lost youth guide me like stars falling in the night sky, and may our dreams pave a path to success like fallen flowers. Lastly, I express gratitude for the companionship of fellow students and cherish fond memories. I also extend thanks to our teachers for their guidance and instruction. May HKUST stand as enduring as the moon and rise like the sun, bringing prosperity year after year.

I am deeply grateful to MUST for furnishing me with an exemplary educational platform, affording me the opportunity to delve, learn, and evolve. In the classroom, I learned how to apply theory to solve practical problems; in practice, I gained many skills within the industry. My time at MUST was not only about accumulating knowledge but also about refining my thoughts. In the class, I heard various languages being spoken, I read books from different cultures, and I embraced diverse perspectives. This taught me to listen to different voices, ponder different viewpoints, and encouraged me to explore and continuously ask "why" and "how to improve." In the future, I will uphold the university motto of "Integrity, Sincerity, Respect, and Pursuit of Excellence" as I continue to move forward.

I often wonder, how should I summarize my four years at MUST? Is it the grades that improved every semester, or the maximum number of thirteen presentations and countless reports in one semester, or just the experience of studying with friends all night long in the study room until dawn for a final exam... In short, too many similar memories filled my entire four years, helping me grow step by step into a brave and determined person who can face difficulties and challenges head-on.

Graduation is approaching, and the emotion of separation is particularly strong. I would like to thank all my teachers and classmates at MUST for allowing me to learn and grow in such a dynamic environment. I also hope that all graduates can continue to explore and move forward in their respective professional fields and life paths with their vision and courage for the future.

Alone I strode, through the gates of the University of Science and Technology of Macau, where time's hand guides and virtue's torch illuminates the halls of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management. After braving many a hardship, traversing mountains and rivers, I stand now as a cornerstone of the institution. With head held high, I bid adieu, expressing my heartfelt gratitude.

From the heights, I gaze upon the misty peaks, bathed in the golden glow of dawn, where every detail becomes clear in the light's embrace. Yet, once I wandered lost, contemplating forsaking my path. The school's nurturing hand, like a master gardener, cultivated my spirit, honed my resolve, and rekindled my flame.

Upon this lofty perch, the path of my profession shines bright as a rainbow; before the abyss, my life's purpose looms large. May the knowledge I've gained illuminate my way forward. May I hold fast to the lessons of this esteemed institution, cherishing gratitude, unafraid of trials, and pressing forward with courage.
