The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (F.H.T.M.) Macau University of Science and Technology hosted a Culinary Demonstration Workshop by Celebrity Chef of China Li Rui on November 19, 2021 at O203. Chef Li Rui was invited to demonstrate culinary skills of Sichuan Cuisine. The event attracted students majoring in Food & Beverage Management (BFBM). This workshop was sponsored by Macao Foundation.

Prof. Ben K. Goh, gave a warm welcome speech to the guests and said M.U.S.T. has kept enriching the students’ learning and experiences and enhancing their professional skills through offering or holding all kinds of courses, master lectures and culinary workshops. The university expects that through these events students may have the opportunities to learn and appreciate talent of top chefs and to know more about Chinese traditional Ba-shu culture and culinary skills of Sichuan Cuisine.
Chef Li Rui Demonstrates his Signature Dishes
Chef Li Rui is the National Senior Technician and the Celebrity Chef of China. He has presided a number of scientific research projects for catering brand and cooking teaching projects. He also published the journal articles on food technology research, and served as the judge of provincial and municipal cooking skill competitions for many times, and is committed to the research on the industrialized production of traditional Chinese cuisine.

At the sharing session, Chef Li Rui demonstrated his signature dishes including Kung Bao Fresh Abalone and Sea Bass. Then, students made Dumplings under the guidance of Chef Li Rui. The Culinary Demonstration Workshop enriched the students’ learning and experiences and enhanced their professional skills of Sichuan Cuisine, which would certainly be a great treasure in their future careers.
