"Distinguished Scholar Forum of Hospitality and Tourism" Lecture Series: Professor Renuka Mahadevan presented ‘The Application of Mixed Methods in Tourism Research’ series of lectures

As part of the celebration of M.U.S.T.’s 25th Anniversary, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the Macau University of Science and Technology successfully hosted an academic lecture on 14 April, 2025. Associate Professor Renuka Mahadevan from the University of Queensland was invited as the guest speaker. Professor Mahadevan has extensive research experience across the Asia-Pacific region and Australia, with academic expertise in development economics, international trade, and applied econometrics. The lecture was attended by Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of F.H.T.M., Professor Timothy Lee , Vice Dean of F.H.T.M., Assistant Dean and Associate Professor Zhang Yang, several other faculty members and students.

In this lecture, Professor Mahadevan drew on two of her previously published tourism studies that adopt a stakeholder perspective to explore the practical application of mixed methods research in the field of tourism. The event was met with enthusiastic participation from faculty and students. Professor Mahadevan responded to questions with patience and clarity, fostering in-depth academic exchange.
