Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Delegation Visited Ningbo University

On April 24, Professor Wu Guomin, Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), and Associate Professor Wen Jun visited Ningbo University (NBU) and were warmly received by Professor Shen Shiwei, Executive Dean of the NBU-Angers University Joint Institute. Also attending the symposium were Academic Vice Dean Wang Xueji and Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Associate Professor Xie Huizi.

Meeting

During the meeting, both sides introduced their respective educational development, distinctive features, and strengths. In his speech, Dean Ben Goh highly praised the achievements and characteristics of the Sino-French cooperative education model at the NBU-Angers University Joint Institute, expressing his intention to draw on its experience to further align with national strategies and develop collaborations with higher education institutions in Portuguese-speaking countries. The two parties reached multiple consensuses on strengthening personnel exchanges, conducting multilateral cooperation, and jointly organizing international conferences. Dean Shen Shiwei cordially invited Dean Ben Goh to lead a delegation to participate in the 12th Sino-European International Tourism Symposium, co-hosted by Ningbo University, Angers University, and other institutions in July this year in France's Loire Valley region, as well as the 2nd Global Tourism Deans’ Summit and the 8th China & "Belt and Road" Countries Tourism Higher Education Symposium, to be held in Ningbo in September.

Subsequently, Professor Ben Goh and Associate Professor Wen Jun delivered engaging lectures to the academic master's students in Tourism Management under the Sino-French cooperative program at Ningbo University. The lectures were titled "Trends and Strategies in Macau's Tourism Industry" and "Tourism and Health: Interdisciplinary Exploration of Non-Pharmacological Interventions and Therapies for Dementia in the Elderly," respectively. The session was chaired by Associate Professor Xie Huizi. The students listened attentively, actively asked questions, and the atmosphere was lively.

After the lectures, Dean Ben Goh presented the institute with Macau-themed souvenirs designed and produced by students from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Both sides agreed to strengthen faculty and student exchange programs in the future, working together to broaden high-level international development pathways for Tourism Management education.
