MUST Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Joins Hands with Faculty of Humanities and Arts to Host "5th Faculty-Student Football Friendship Match"

On November 8, 2025, the "5th Faculty-Student Football Friendship Match," jointly organized by the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM), the FHTM Student Union, the Student Consultative Committee, and the Faculty of Humanities and Arts (FA) Student Union, was successfully held at the MUST Football Field (Block I). The match featured teams from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management and the Faculty of Humanities and Arts, with players comprising faculty members and students from both faculties.

Prior to the match, Prof. Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM, and Mr. Chen Chen, Head of FA, delivered speeches on behalf of their respective faculties. They encouraged participants to showcase their skills, engage actively in physical exercise to alleviate stress and anxiety, and expressed hopes for increased interaction between faculty and students from the two faculties in the future.

To highlight the profound friendship between the faculties, a special gift exchange ceremony was arranged before the kick-off. Leveraging their professional expertise, students from FHTM prepared and presented a gift of crispy and delicious homemade cookies to FA. In return, FA presented a uniquely crafted woodblock print, offering the gift of art to convey their heartfelt sentiments. This exchange was not only a demonstration of respective skills but also a beautiful testament to the camaraderie between the students.

The game commenced in the afternoon with the referee's whistle. The FHTM team donned purple jerseys, while the FA team wore white uniforms. Both sides swiftly entered a state of competitive yet friendly play. All team members were given the opportunity to take the field, with each player delivering an excellent performance, collectively presenting an exciting and remarkable match for the audience. Football served as the medium, and sportsmanship as the bridge and this event successfully achieved its goal of fostering friendship and connection between the faculty and students of the two faculties through the beautiful game.

Following the match, participants from both teams expressed satisfaction with the event's success. They noted that it not only promoted physical fitness but also highlighted the vitality of MUST students and the spirit of sportsmanship. This friendly competition established a valuable platform for exchange between FHTM and FA, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration and mutual trust. The FA football team also extended its gratitude to the organizing committee of FHTM for hosting the event and expressed eagerness for more collaborative opportunities in the future.
