On April 15, 2026, the “2026 HSBC Macau Business Case Competition” was held at the University of Macau. Co-organized by the University of Macau’s Faculty of Business Administration and Centre for Tourism and Integrated Resort Studies, and fully sponsored by HSBC Macau, the competition saw outstanding performance from students of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Yu Jing, students Zhu Xirui, Cai Yiwen, Li Yuexin, and Li Ruizi won the Championship. In addition, FHTM teams also clinched a Merit Award and a Participation Award. This competition is a premier university business event in Macau, aiming to train students in case analysis, strategic planning, and interdisciplinary application using real-world business scenarios, while building a platform for academic exchange and industry networking among Macau’s higher education institutions.

The competition gathered over a hundred elite students from various universities across Macau, including MUST, the University of Macau, and the City University of Macau, resulting in fierce competition. Facing strong opponents, the participating teams from FHTM, under the guidance of their supervisors, consistently upheld the spirit of MUST’s motto, “Dedication to practical studies, enhancement of knowledge, ability, and quality”. The team members underwent three rounds of rigorous testing: the qualifying round, preliminary round, and final defense. Steadily advancing through the layers of selection, they successfully stood out because of their excellent business literacy, innovative solutions, and seamless teamwork. They swept multiple honors, including the Championship, the Merit Award, and the Participation Award, fully demonstrating the professional foundation and competitive spirit of FHTM students.

According to relevant arrangements, the championship team will subsequently represent the Macau region to participate in HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Competition 2026. In the future, FHTM will continue to encourage students to participate in various high-level academic competitions. By promoting learning and skill development through competition, the faculty aims to cultivate more interdisciplinary talents possessing international vision and business competence.
