The Macau University of Science and Technology Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Alumni Association (hereinafter referred to as the “FHTMAA”) organized a visit to alumni enterprises in the Greater Bay Area from June 15 to 17, 2026. Following its inaugural visit in July 2024, this second trip aimed to further consolidate alumni networks, deepen industry-academia collaboration, and explore the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence with the cultural and tourism sector. The delegation, led by Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management and Honorary Advisor of the FHTMAA, visited Guangzhou, Foshan, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai over the three-day itinerary.
On the first day, the delegation arrived in Guangzhou and visited Air Wheel, a company founded by alumnus Hao Yu, to learn about its current development and industry trends. The delegation then traveled to Foshan for a key visit to Guangzhou VertGrow Technology Company, founded by alumnus Gao Shang. The company specializes in AI-driven operational models and industry solutions. The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with the alumni team on “AI + Tourism” scenarios, exploring innovative applications of artificial intelligence in hotel management, travel services, and commercial operations.

On the final day, the delegation returned to Zhuhai and toured the Zhuhai Renheng InterContinental Hotel, where alumni are employed, to observe high-end hotel operations and service innovations firsthand, keeping abreast of the latest trends in the Greater Bay Area’s hospitality industry.

Throughout the trip, the FHTMAA hosted three admissions information sessions and networking dinners – the “Guangzhou Gathering,” “Shenzhen Gathering,” and “Zhuhai Gathering” – inviting alumni representatives from each city. These events not only updated alumni on the Faculty’s latest developments and talent cultivation directions but also created valuable platforms for cross-city and cross-cohort interaction. Participating alumni remarked that such gatherings helped expand their professional networks, facilitated experience sharing and resource matching, and offered fresh perspectives for career advancement.
