To celebrate M.U.S.T.’s 24th Anniversary, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) held the first lecture of “Seminars by Masters from the Tourism Industry” on March 8th, 2024, in D Hall. Mr. Kore Yang, the Omnichannel Director of the DFS Cotai Limitada was invited as the guest speaker and provided an inspiring lecture entitled “Digital in Luxury Retail”. Prof. Ben K. Goh - Dean of FHTM, Assistant Dean Dr. Wong Weng Chou, Program Director Dr. Feng Yan, Program Director Pan Su Ying and more than 400 teachers and students attended the seminar.

Before the lecture began, Prof. Ben K. Goh delivered a welcome speech mentioning the outstanding achievements of DFS Group's global luxury retailers. DFS has carried out strategic cooperation with multiple groups to conduct digital operations and create a new luxury retail experience. Mr. Kore Yang has many years of experience in omnichannel brand management, and hopes that students can cherish this opportunity and learn from the expert. At the same time, Prof. Ben K. Goh also hope that this lecture can inspire students to think about the future of sustainable development.

Mr. Kore Yang started his speech by narrating his professional journey at DFS, which led him to spearhead digital transformation in the luxury retail sector. He elaborated in detail on the comprehensive strategic partnerships that DFS Group had undertaken in recent years, incorporating several case studies for analysis of their management tactics. Drawing from the strategic development of DFS group and his extensive international vision and hands-on experience, Mr. Yang delivered an enlightening lecture on digital transformation in the luxury retail industry for the attending students, scholars and industry professionals.

During the Q&A session, students enthusiastically asked questions, and Mr. Kore Yang patiently answered them. Through this lecture, the students gained a deeper understanding of digital applications in the luxury retail industry from an industry perspective, and also gained new inspiration and thinking about cutting-edge applications and future trends in the tourism industry.
