To celebrate M.U.S.T.’s 24th Anniversary, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) held the second lecture of “Seminars by Masters from Tourism Industry” on March 22, 2024, in D Hall. Mr. Jin Xisheng, a luxury hotel General Manager, was invited as the guest speaker and provided an inspiring lecture entitled “Luxury Boutique Brands versus Traditional High-end Hotels”. Dean of FHTM Professor Ben K. Goh, Assistant Dean Dr. Wong Weng Chou, and Program Directors Dr. Brenda Yang, Dr. Feng Yan, and Pan Su Ying, and more than 400 teachers and students attended the seminar.

Professor Ben K. Goh delivered an opening speech and expressed his warm welcome and gratitude to Mr. Jin Xisheng. Luxury niche brands and traditional high-end hotels are two directions that have attracted much attention in the hotel industry. Professor Ben K. Goh hopes this lecture can inspire students to explore the differences and future trends between luxury niche brands and traditional high-end hotels.

During the speech, Mr. Jin Xisheng first introduced the concepts and characteristics of luxury niche brands. He then elaborated on the differences between them and traditional high-end hotels in various aspects. Mr. Jin pointed out the advantages of personalized service and unique positioning in luxury niche brands, attracting high-end customers who seek unique experiences through superior locations and distinctive offerings. Mr. Jin Xisheng also shared his insights on the future development trends in the hotel industry. He believes that personalized service will also become an important trend in the hotel industry, with increasing demand from consumers for luxury niche hotels.

Mr. Jin patiently answered the students' questions with his extensive experience and expertise and shared practical advice and insights. Through this lecture, the students gained a deeper understanding of luxury niche brands from an industry perspective, as well as new inspiration and thoughts on the future development trends in the hotel industry and their personal career planning.
