The 2024 HSBC/UM Macau Business Case Competition concluded successfully on March 23rd. Under the guidance of Assistant Dean Jose Weng Chou Wong from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management (FHTM) at Macau University of Science and Technology, FHTM students once again demonstrated their top-notch performance. With excellent business analysis capabilities and innovative business practice mindsets, they stood out from many universities in Macau and won the second place and a merit award. Specifically, the team consisting of Liu Lexuan, Yang Sijia, Liu Zhiqing, and Ouyang Xinyue from the FHTM fully exhibited their ability to respond to situations and team collaboration spirit during the final round, winning the second place in the Macau division and a prize of 8,000MOP. Additionally, the team of Liang Keying, Wang Zixia, Tong Xinyi, and Xu Ruijie from the same school was also awarded the merit award and a prize for their outstanding innovative practice capabilities.

The 2024 HSBC/UM Macau Business Case Competition was jointly organized by the FBA and FBA-CTIRS of the University of Macau, and sponsored by HSBC Macau. The purpose of the competition is to enhance and encourage students' understanding and learning of business knowledge by analyzing real business cases, cultivate and promote the application of business knowledge among university students, and showcase opportunities for inter-university exchanges and exposure to the business industry. This business competition was open to students from all universities and higher education institutions in Macau, attracting over 100 student teams from institutions such as the Macau University of Science and Technology, the University of Macau, the Macau Polytechnic University, and the Macau Institute for Tourism Studies. FHTM students persevered through the preliminary and on-site final rounds, fully demonstrating the “Dedication to practical studies, Enhancement of knowledge, Ability and Quality.” spirit of Macau University of Science and Technology, and ultimately achieved outstanding results.
