The "2024 Roundtable Forum -- Academic Paper Writing Tips and Academic Cooperation" was successfully held in O702 of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) on March 21, 2024, which was sponsored by the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of M.U.S.T and co-organized by the Student Union of FHTM of M.U.S.T..
The event featured invited speakers including Professor Li Mimi from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Professor Chen Ganghua from School of Tourism at Sun Yat-Sen University, and Associate Professor Pan Su-Ying, Graduate Program Director from FHTM at M.U.S.T., were invited to attend with graduate students, aiming to help our graduate students improve their academic quality, cultivate their writing ability, and enhance academic cooperation, who shared their insights with postgraduate students on how to help our graduate students improve their academic literacy, cultivate their ability to write papers, enhance academic cooperation, and become qualified scholars in the field of tourism. The event was attended by esteemed guests including Professor Goh, Dean of the FHTM at MUST, Professor Timothy Lee, Professor Wong Weng Chou, as well as almost all the teachers and students from FHTM who listened attentively to the lectures.

Prior to the Roundtable forum, Professor Goh, Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, delivered an opening speech and presented commemorative gifts to the three guest speakers. The first part of the forum was a keynote speech by three invited guests. Professor Li Mimi shared how to write better articles from the perspective of reviewers, and Professor Chen Ganghua used concise and clear language to tell what kind of tourism research should do and seven strategies for journal paper writing. In the end, Associate Professor Pan Su-Ying shared the writing skills of how to select a thesis topic with specific examples and introduced some hot topics in tourism research. The three guests provided valuable paper writing experience for our graduate students from different perspectives.

In the second part of the forum, the three guests held a discussion focusing on logical writing, scientific research innovation, writing efficiency and the use of AI tools. The three professors shared their views from their own experiences, and put forward constructive suggestions on how to face negative emotions such as anxiety and maintain academic enthusiasm in the future academic career of our graduate students. After the guest sharing, the forum provided the students an opportunities to face-to-face communication with academic masters and supervisors to got more helpful advices, which brought the roundtable forum to a successful end.
