FHTM and Changzhou Female Entrepreneurs Association co-organized the “ShEO Project” Female Entrepreneurs' Leadership Training Program

From June 12 to 15, 2024, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Macau University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Changzhou Female Entrepreneurs Association, hosted a leadership training program for women entrepreneurs titled the “ShEO Project” Female Entrepreneurs' Leadership Training Program. This training course, carefully designed and developed through thorough communication between the two parties, aims to provide systematic leadership training for female entrepreneurs, enabling them to better utilize their talents and potential in their business careers.

On June 13th, a grand opening ceremony for the training program was held. Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM at M.U.S.T., and Ms. Jiang Li, Chairwoman of the Changzhou Female Entrepreneurs Association, delivered speeches on behalf of the collaborating parties. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Ms. Zhang Qun, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Wujin District Committee of Changzhou; Ms. Hu Limin, Vice President of Jinchuang Group and President of the Changzhou Female Entrepreneurs Association; Ms. Shi Rongzhu, Honorary President of the Changzhou Female Entrepreneurs Association and Chairwoman of Changzhou Riying Electronics Co., Ltd.; and Dr. Feng Yan, Dr. Yang Chieh Yun, Dr. Zhang Yihang, and Dr. Xu Ye from  FHTM. During the ceremony, leaders from both parties signed a comprehensive cooperation framework agreement, outlining plans for collaboration over the next two years in non-degree education, academic research, and the establishment of integrated industry-education training bases.

During the four-day training program, participants attended academically rich and informative lectures and engaged in face-to-face exchanges with prominent women from Macau's business and educational sectors. They also visited the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences, the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Trade Cooperation Service Platform Pavilion, and made visits to Wynn Palace, the Women’s General Association of Macau, and the Macau Jiangsu Friendship Association.

At the closing ceremony of the program, Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM, awarded completion certificates to the participants, marking the successful conclusion of the leadership training program. During the ceremony, Ms. Shan Yi, Head of Jiangsu Paiting Law Firm, and Ms. Chen Rutong, General Manager of Changzhou Huitong Construction Technology Co., Ltd., shared their learning experiences and insights as outstanding student representatives. Both Ms. Shan and Ms. Chen highly praised the training program, acknowledging that the knowledge they gained would significantly enhance their leadership capabilities in their future careers. Additionally, Ms. Hu Limin, President of the Changzhou Female Entrepreneurs Association, also shared her experiences and insights with the attendees, emphasizing the importance of this training in enhancing the leadership of female entrepreneurs. At the conclusion of the closing ceremony, Dr. Xu Ye, the project director, delivered a heartfelt speech, quoting the phrases "Changzhou and Macao, one family" and Changzhou's city slogan "Frequent Visits, Lasting Bonds." Dr. Xu expressed the hope that exchanges between the two regions would become more frequent and in-depth. She emphasized that through high-quality training programs like this one, the academy aims to help women tell their stories and showcase their strength.
