On October 30, 2024, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Macau University of Science and Technology successfully held a session in the " Distinguished Scholar Forum of Hospitality and Tourism " lecture series. This lecture featured Associate Professor Zheng Chunhui from the School of Management at Guangzhou University as the distinguished speaker. Associate Professor Zheng provided an in-depth explanation of the complete application process for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), covering four critical stages: preparation, topic selection, writing, and refinement. The event was attended by Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of F.H.T.M., Assistant Dean and Associate Professor Zhang Yang, and more than 50 faculty members and students.

Associate Professor Zheng Chunhui has extensive experience in applying for the NSFC, having led two NSFC projects and one project funded by the Ministry of Education’s Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation. She currently serves as a review expert for NSFC projects. During the lecture, Associate Professor Zheng offered a systematic analysis and practical guidance to help the attendees understand the key points and important aspects of the application process. She used the example of “The “Digital transformation” in Tourist-destination Relationships” to provide the audience with actionable insights on topic selection. Following the lecture, Associate Professor Zheng engaged in a dynamic exchange with faculty and students, delving deeply into questions on project applications and topic design. She offered invaluable professional insights that enhanced the participants’ understanding.
