From October 24 to 27, 2024, delegation from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) attended the Tourism Research Annual Conference organized by the Tourism Tribune. As one of the leading academic journals in the field of tourism, Tourism Tribune consistently ranks high in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and is widely regarded as a highly impactful journal in tourism discipline. This conference witnessed the participation of nearly 40 editorial board members of the Tourism Tribune, along with 1,100 faculty and student representatives from domestic and international universities and research institutions, including Griffith University (Australia), Edith Cowan University (Australia), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Macau, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and others. During the conference, master's and doctoral students from FHTM actively shared their latest academic research and discussed future research directions with various experts.

The conference was held at the Xiamen Wutong Fliport Hotel, with the theme "Innovative Development of Cultural Tourism and Beautiful New China." Discussions focused on the structure and direction of innovative development in cultural tourism, the mechanisms and implementation of building a beautiful China, and the strategic interactions and pathways between the Macau and Mainland China, empowering the construction of a modern cultural tourism industry system. FHTM faculty and students actively discussed related topics with participating scholars, exchanging academic ideas.
In the parallel forum sessions, master's and doctoral students from FHTM, under the guidance of Prof. Wong Weng Chou, Prof. Zhang Yang, and Prof. Tang Juan, performed excellently, receiving high recognition from the attending experts, who also provided valuable suggestions on relevant issues. Additionally, FHTM team actively engaged with the organizers, Beijing Union University and Huaqiao University, as well as the editorial board of the Tourism Tribune, establishing good academic connections that will facilitate future collaborations and further strengthen academic ties between MUST and mainland universities.
