FHTM Visited Malaysian Universities to Promote Collaboration

At the invitation of Taylor’s University, Malaysia, Dean Ben Goh and Assistant Dean Jose Wong of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM), Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), visited Taylor’s University on January 17, 2025, for an academic exchange. During the meeting, Assistant Dean Wong introduced the development of Macau University of Science and Technology and its Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Both parties discussed potential collaborations in research, student exchange programs, and university internationalization, reaching agreements to promote substantive cooperation in the future. The delegation from Taylor’s University included Dr. Balasubramanian Kandappan, Head of the School of Hospitality, Tourism, and Events; Dr. Jeetesh Kumar, Research Director of the faculty; Dr. Ruth Sabina Francis and Dr. Thanam Subramaniam, Program Director; and faculty members Dr. Anshul Garg, Dr. Khairiah Binti Ismail, and PhD candidate Ms. Chan Juan.

On January 18, Dean Goh and his delegation met with Dr. Chua Bee Lia, a renowned scholar from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Dr. Chua provided an overview of the development of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology at Universiti Putra Malaysia and expressed hope for future interdisciplinary collaboration with MUST’s Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Dean Goh emphasized that FHTM has been actively pursuing internationalization in recent years. This visit to Malaysia will significantly promote collaboration between FHTM and Malaysian universities. Moving forward, FHTM will continue to seek international partnerships, particularly interdisciplinary cooperation, to achieve continuous progress in teaching and research.
