The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management of Macau University of Science and Technology Launched “Certified Lodging Security Supervisor (CLSS) Course”

On June 17, 2025, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (F.H.T.M.) at Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) and the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) Greater China jointly held the opening ceremony for Certified Lodging Security Supervisor (CLSS) Course. As the AHLEI Designated Training Base in Greater China, FHTM has conducted this training program for the third consecutive year. The CLSS course is designed to elevate hotel security management standards and cultivate industry talent. The ceremony was attended by Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of F.H.T.M., Assistant Dean and Associate Professor Zhang Yang, Ms. Lidan Fong, Associate Director of Human Resources- Training and Development of Sands China Ltd., Mr. Marco Choi, Human Resources Training Manager of Sands China Ltd., Mr. Alan Huo, AHLEI Greater China Accreditation & Education Committee Member, and Mr. Martin Tam.

The intensive four-day program brings together 20 trainees from Sands China Ltd., all participants in the company's "Hearts of Sands Project – Fast Track Security Supervisor Trainee" elite programme. The curriculum covers critical areas including hotel security management systems, emergency response protocols, and risk assessment methodologies, providing comprehensive training to enhance participants' professional competencies and leadership skills for future security supervisory roles.

Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of F.H.T.M., stated in his speech that the faculty has always been committed to promoting the high-quality development of the hospitality and tourism industry. This training course will provide a platform for rapid growth for the trainees and facilitate their career development. He encouraged the trainees to cherish the learning opportunity, combine theoretical knowledge with practice, and contribute to improving the safety standards of the hotel.
