N Possibilities of FHTM Students Sharing Session Successfully Concluded Diverse Career Experiences Inspire Current Students

The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Macau University of Science and Technology successfully held the “N Possibilities of FHTM Students” sharing session on October 24, 2025, at 12:00 PM in room O702. The event brought together three outstanding alumni from various industries who returned to campus to share their career development journeys and life experiences, demonstrating the vast career possibilities available to hospitality and tourism graduates. The session was organized by the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, co-organized by the FHTM Alumni Association, FHTM Student Union, and FHTM Student Consultative Committee, with sponsorship from the Education Fund of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

The event was attended by Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM, Dr. Vivian Tang Vice Chief Director and General Secretary of Macau University of Science and Technology Alumni Federation, Mr. Patrick Wong, President of General Assembly of FHTM Alumni Association, Mr. David Ao, Chairman of Executive Committee of FHTM Alumni Association, Mr. Jason Choi, Committee Member of Executive Committee of FHTM Alumni Association, Dr. Feng Yan, Program Director of FHTM and over 200 teachers and students.

During the sharing session, Eva Zhang, a 2011 graduate of the Bachelor of International Tourism Management program and currently a Product Operations Manager at Meituan, shared her unique transition from tourism management to internet product operations, illustrating how hospitality and tourism knowledge can be applied to digital product development and management. Huiyu Chen, also a 2011 graduate of the same program and now a Ph.D. candidate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University while serving as Vice Chairman of the General Assembly of the FHTM Alumni Association, provided valuable insights into integrating academic research with industry practice, offering practical advice for students considering further studies. Lareina Wang, a 2015 graduate currently working as the Hotel Marketing Executive responsible for the Greater Bay Area at 1000Meetings, shared her hands-on experience in hotel market expansion and regional management, particularly in developing the Greater Bay Area market.

The event featured vibrant interactions during the Q&A session, where students actively engaged with the alumni speakers on topics including career planning, industry trends, and professional development. This sharing session continued the successful tradition of the series, providing students with valuable face-to-face communication opportunities with outstanding alumni. Not only did it help broaden students' perspectives, but it also inspired them to think more diversely about their future career paths. Following the event, many participants expressed that they had gained substantial benefits and developed clearer directions for their personal career planning.
