On October 16, 2025, Dr. Feng, the Program Director of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Macau University of Science and Technology, led a grou of 82 students to the SJM Asia Top Sommelier Summit 2025 at the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Center. The purpose of the conference was to explore the current state and development trends of wine and wineries in various regions through wine appreciation, broaden students' international perspectives, and facilitate the exchange of academic and practical experiences.

This summit brings together over 30 experts in the wine industry from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, as well as twelve Asian regions, including South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. Our teacher and students participated in the AWSA: China Wine Carnival and Master Class courses at the summit.


Master class
This experiential learning activity is rich in content. Students have successively learned about various types of wines. Through tasting and on-site communication, students have gained a deeper understanding of the development history, sales, and management models of different wine estates, enhancing their professional competence and wine appreciation ability.

They gained deeper insights into the principles of winemaking and the characteristics of different wines, which will help students further comprehend relevant professional knowledge and plan for their future careers.
