The second session of the 2025 Things Graduate Students MUST Know organized by the Students' Union of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), was held on November 5, 2025, at Lecture Hall N319, Block N, MUST Library Building. The guest speaker for this session was Professor Edmund Goh, Assistant Dean of Research and Innovation at Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy, Les Roches. He delivered a lecture titled “Reflecting on the Trends, Topics, and Tips in Hospitality and Tourism Research”. Attendees included Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at MUST; Professor Jose Wong, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at MUST; Associate Professor Pan Su Ying, Program Director; Associate Professor Pai Chen Kuo; Associate Professor Wen Jun; Assistant Professor Kim Jinkyung; Assistant Professor Amr Al-Ansi; and nearly a hundred students from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management and other faculties. This seminar was sponsored by Macau Foundation.

Dean Ben K. Goh delivered the opening speech, expressing gratitude to Professor Edmund Goh for his insightful lecture and acknowledging Associate Professor Pai Chen Kuo for his contributions to organizing the event. Dean Wu also presented a commemorative gift to Professor Edmund Goh. During the lecture, Professor Edmund Goh, with his profound academic expertise and extensive publishing experience, shared insights into future research trends and key themes in the field of hospitality and tourism. On the topic of how to conduct high-quality academic research, Professor Edmund Goh summarized eight core techniques, providing a detailed analysis of "research ideas, literature review, methodological explanation and discussion, presentation of research findings, professional writing quality, research timeliness, collaboration, and proper handling of manuscript rejections." His presentation offered clear research guidance for the students.

Additionally, after the lecture, Professor Wu Lianfu carefully addressed each question raised by the students. The event concluded with a group photo of all participating faculty and students, marking a successful end to the lecture.
