Things Graduate Students MUST Know: Interdisciplinary Tourism Research: Benefits, Challenges, and the Path to Fulfilling Professional & Personal Goals

The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) held the lecture for 2026 of “Things Graduate Students MUST Know” on 18th March,2026 in N316. The guest invited for this lecture is Associate Professor Wen Jun from FHTM, with the theme of “Interdisciplinary Tourism Research: Benefits, Challenges, and the Path to Fulfilling Professional & Personal Goals”. Dr. Pan Su Ying, Program Director (Graduate) of FHTM, Dr. Pai Chen Kuo, Associate Professor, Dr. Liu Chao, Assistant Professor, Dr. Hong Fang, Assistant Professor, and more than 100 students attended the seminar.

Program Director, Dr. Pan Su Ying first gave an opening speech to thank Associate Professor Dr. Wen Jun for bringing this lecture, and also thanked Associate Professor Dr. Pai Chen Kuo for his contribution to the preparation of this lecture, and then sent a souvenir to Dr. Wen Jun. In the lecture, Dr. Wen Jun used his own research projects as examples to illustrate the core idea that research originates from life, sharing specific personal experiences such as aging tourism and pet tourism. He also pointed out that interdisciplinary research must respect objective facts, and drawing on his extensive experience as a reviewer, emphasized the importance of research ethics and integrity. This lecture not only inspired students’ future research but also provided guidance for writing and submitting papers.
