To celebrate MUST’s 26th Anniversary, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) held the third lecture of “Seminars by Masters from Tourism Industry” on March 20th, 2026 at D Hall. Mr. Hong Yude, General Manager of WellWin Technology Limited was invited as the guest speaker and provided an inspiring lecture entitled “Connection Between Educational Travel and Science Events”. Prof. Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM, Assistant Dean Dr. Wong Weng Chou, Program Director Dr. Feng Yan, Program Director Dr. Pan Su Ying and more than 400 teachers and students attended the seminar.

Professor Ben K. Goh extended a warm welcome to Mr. Hong and encouraged students to listen attentively to the insights shared by industry experts. Through interactive exchanges with the guest speaker, participants were encouraged to explore in-depth pathways for the integrated development of study tour tourism and event activities. It was hoped that the lecture would enable students to gain a deeper understanding of the integration and development of the MICE and cultural tourism industries.

During the lecture, Mr. Hung framed the discussion within Macau’s broader industry development and drew on his extensive practical experience in both tourism and technology sectors. He analyzed inbound visitor accommodation and expenditure patterns and highlighted the important role that event competitions play in stimulating tourism spending and extending visitor length of stay. Using hands-on case studies such as the Macau Youth Robotics Competition and the LEGO Asia regional finals, Mr. Hung demonstrated concrete practices for integrating event planning with educational tourism. He proposed strategies for converting event traffic into sustainable cultural-tourism consumption, focusing on enhancing event content quality and better integrating food, lodging, and transport resources. His presentation was industry-relevant, substantive, and forward-looking, earning strong positive responses from the audience.

During the Q&A session, the students participated actively and raised questions enthusiastically. Through this lecture, students fully grasped the internal connection, planning points and industrial value of study tourism and event activities, deepened their understanding of the development of Macau's non-gaming tourism, strengthened their confidence in future career development and laid a solid foundation for their upcoming professional journey.

FHTM Students Interacted with Guest Speaker

Mr. Hong Yude, General Manager of WellWin Technology Limited. He previously served as a chairman in a diversified conglomerate, focusing on providing fleet operations, large-scale conference, and event planning services for major resorts and government departments. In 2015, he successfully introduced DJI, the world's largest consumer drone brand to Macau, offering professional drone products and services to the Macau government, schools, businesses, and retailers. Mr. Hong collaborates closely with DJI across various fields, particularly in drone safety training, industry application development, artificial intelligence, and robotics education and competitions, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to and deep understanding of AI and high-tech products and applications.
