Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) held the internationally recognized "Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) Workshop" from June 8 to 11, 2026. Several assistant professors from FHTM, as well as master’s and PhD students and staffs from hospitality industry also participated in the program. The CHE program features the only one of its kind globally to certify hospitality educators as well as industry professionals with an intensive and interactive learning workshop. It aims to enhance the professional teaching status of educators and help instructors advance their knowledge of vocational education theories, teaching methods, and practical skills.

The CHE program invited a professional instructor from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, Mr. George Ubbelohde, to conduct professional training. Through workshop, participants gained insights to enhance their independent thinking and motivation to learn, as well as recognition from their peers and the hospitality industry regarding the teaching capabilities of educators.

This is of great significance for enhancing the quality of teaching and international reputation of the university.
