To deepen academic exchanges between the two institutions and broaden students' international perspectives, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Macau University of Science and Technology successfully hosted the "Moutai Institute Study Exchange Program" from July 14 to 18, 2026. This five-day program focused on wine culture and tasting, dining etiquette, and international business socializing. Led by Mr. Wu Pengxi, Party Secretary of the School of Brewing Engineering at Moutai Institute, and Mr. Zhao Xueting from the Office of Cooperation and Exchange, 16 students participated in the program. Through a combination of academic seminars and cultural experiences, the program comprehensively enhanced the participants' professional competence and practical skills, receiving unanimous praise.

On the morning of July 15, the opening ceremony was held in Classroom O205. In his welcome speech, Prof. Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM, introduced the development status of luxury hotel brands and integrated resort industries in Macao, and emphasized the critical role of experiential learning in professional training. He expressed the hope that this program could broaden participants’ professional horizons and nurture more outstanding practitioners for the high-end catering and service sectors.
The program was divided into two major parts: Wine Culture & Experience, and International Business Social Etiquette. It integrates wine history theories with real-life etiquette cases, and adopts interactive seminars and simulation exercises to equip participants with professional wine tasting skills and standard international business etiquette.

To strengthen the link between theory and practice, the Faculty arranged two significant field experiences. Participants first visited the Parisian Hotel, gaining a close-up look at daily front office operations of luxury hotels, visiting guest rooms, and experiencing the atmosphere and refined service standards of three premium restaurants, namely Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao, Brasserie, and La Chine in the property. This was followed by an in-depth guided tour of World Heritage sites, including the Ruins of St. Paul’s, A-Ma Temple, and Mount Fortress, allowing participants to personally experience Macao's over 400 years of Sino-Western cultural fusion.

At the closing ceremony, Dean Prof. Ben K. Goh presented certificates to each student and congratulated them on the program’s successful completion. Mr. Zhong Qihong, a Moutai Institute student, stated that this study tour helped him step out of the classroom and broaden his horizons. He gained abundant knowledge through immersive wine tasting and tourism training, and was deeply impressed by Macao’s integrated Chinese and Western culture. He will keep forging ahead with what he has learned. Ms. Tang Rui, also a student, said that the diversified courses offered her new insights into the integration of wine and cultural tourism. She thanked both universities for organizing this exchange, hoped to see deeper cooperation in the future and looked forward to revisiting Macao for further learning.
The successful delivery of this program has not only broadened participants’ professional horizons and improved their practical capabilities in wine tasting and international etiquette but also laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation between the two institutions.
