The Distinguished Hospitality Executive Forum hosted by FHTM was held on November 8, 2019. Ms. Celia Lao, the CEO of Hong Kong and Macao, AirAsia, was invited to give a talk entitled “New Technology Revolution in Aviation and Tourism Industry”.
Ms. Celia Lao used the successful examples of AirAsia to encourage students to persevere in what we aimed to do. In addition, Ms. Lao demonstrated seven technologies applied in AirAsia and its functions. Ms. Celia Lao also corrected the myths of “cheap” Airline as it should be “Low Cost Carrier”. The success of AirAsia is not selling cheap airfares to customers but the effective cost control and that is also the reason why AirAsia is so keen in adapting new technology into their company. Students benefited greatly from this seminar. This seminar was sponsored by Macao Foundation.
