In order to enhance students' understanding of professional knowledge and improving their practical skills on integrated theoretical knowledge and practical application, 2025, Dr. Salott Chau has arranged the class of Rooms Management (DE1) to visit Wynn Palace at Cotai, Macau on March 24, 2025. Students could make direct observation on hotel operations and quality service.
The visit was led by the Wynn Palace room supervisor and staff. .The group assembled in the South Gate lobby ,where the supervisor introduced the design elements of Wynn Palace to the students ,such as the preserved flowers and murals, which add to the splendor of the palace.
Next, ,the supervisor led the group to the guestroom area. They first visited the suite area on the 22nd floor. The supervisor explained the layout and features of the suites. The suites are spacious and consist of a living room, minibar, two bathrooms, master bedroom, entertainment room, and wardrobe room, providing guests with a comfortable living space. The rooms are furnished with high-quality sofas, pool tables, and other furniture, creating a luxurious atmosphere. When introducing the bedroom ,the housekeeping staff skillfully demonstrated their superior bed-making techniques and invited the students to experience the process of putting on pillowcases. Subsequently, the supervisor illustrated Wynn Palace's attention to guests through details such as the tea bags in the minibar. The students also learned about the imported Swiss bottled water used to serve guests, which reflects Wynn Palace's luxury and thoughtfulness.
Then, the group proceeded to the entertainment area of Wynn Palace, where the students saw areas such as the beauty bar,spa, and gym. This sparked great interest among the students and further demonstrated Wynn Palace's meticulous care for its guests, allowing them to fully enjoy every moment at Wynn Palace.
During the Q&A session, the supervisor answered questions regarding service details, the purposes of different areas, and the specifics of room cleaning, which provided the students with valuable insights and a wealth of knowledge. This visit not only offered the students a precious learning opportunity but also enabled them to combine classroom knowledge with practice. It helped the students gain a deep understanding of hotel operations and provided practical references for their future career planning.
