MUST FHTM faculty members and students attend 2025 APTA International Conference in South Korea with Outstanding Achievements

From July 7 to 9, 2025, faculty members and students from the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) participated in the Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA) International Conference in Busan, South Korea – the largest academic event for the hospitality and tourism industry in the Asia-Pacific region. Led by Dean Ben K. Goh, the delegation included over 30 participants including Assistant Dean Professor Wong Weng Chou, Programme Director Associate Professor Pan Su-Ying and Assistant Professor Feng Yan, Associate Professor Pai Chen-Kuo, Associate Professor Park Sung Hee, as well as Assistant Professor Sung Kyongsik. The group actively engaged in academic exchange activities and was honored with the "Graduate Student Travel Award" during the conference, fully demonstrating the faculty’s academic strength and international influence in tourism research.

The APTA International Conference invited senior scholars from various universities and institutions, attracting tourism experts, industry professionals, and students from multiple countries and regions worldwide. Conference topics covered cutting-edge fields such as cultural heritage preservation, medical tourism, tourism marketing, and tourist behavior research, providing participants with a high-level platform for academic exchange.

During the conference, FHTM’s faculty members and students actively participated in parallel sessions and poster presentations, engaging in in-depth discussions with scholars from around the world to share their latest research findings and broaden their international academic perspectives. Notably, a paper titled “Employer Brand Attractiveness Forster Organization Citizenship Behaviors Through Hotel Brand Love” – authored by student Long Zhiqian under the guidance of Associate Professor Pai Chen Kuo – received the conference’s "Graduate Travel Grant Award." The award recognizes four most outstanding graduate students for their conference papers and presentation performance, providing funding for their academic travel expenses.

The APTA International Conference not only provided an important platform for FHTM’s faculty members and students to showcase research achievements and exchange academic ideas but also further elevated FHTM’s reputation and influence in the global tourism academia. Moving forward, the Faculty will continue to encourage active participation in international academic exchanges and promote the continuous development and innovation of tourism research.
