On August 21–22, 2025, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Macau University of Science and Technology successfully organized its annual team-building retreat at MGM Reserve Zhuhai. The event brought together all faculty and staff members to enhance collaboration and jointly outline strategic priorities and curriculum reforms for the new academic year, reinforcing a foundation for continuous innovation and sustainable development.

Presided over by Dean Ben K. Goh, the retreat commenced with a warm welcome to new faculty members, followed by in-depth discussions on the Faculty’s mission and vision, curriculum innovation with AI integration, internationalization strategies, and research promotion. Key initiatives for the upcoming year were introduced, including further development of AI-related courses and interdisciplinary collaboration, offering clear guidance for all participants.
Dean Ben K. Goh Delivered the Speech
During the retreat, several outstanding faculty members were honored with Excellence Awards for their remarkable contributions in teaching, research, and service during the 2024–2025 academic year. Awardees included Associate Professor Pai Chen Kuo for Excellence in Service, Assistant Professor Kim Heewon for Excellence in Research, and Assistant Professor Kelvin Zhang for Excellence in Teaching. Additionally, Assistant Professor Kim Jinkyung, Jenny received dual accolades as the FHTM Rising Star in both Teaching and Research, while Assistant Professor Wang Dimin was recognized as the FHTM Rising Star in Service. Christine Zhen received Excellence Staff Service Award.

The event significantly strengthened team cohesion and provided a clear sense of direction for the Faculty’s future development. The Faculty remains committed to advancing educational innovation and global engagement, striving to provide students with a high-quality learning environment and greater opportunities for growth.
