Dr. Amr Al-Ansi, Assistant Professor at MUST’s Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, was invited by Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) in Surabaya, Indonesia, as a guest speaker at International Conference on Islamic Economics, Business, and Philanthropy2026（ICIEBP）. The conference was held from September 25 to 27, 2026, sponsored by Bank Indonesia and co-organized with UNAIR’s Islamic Economics Department.
UNAIR undergraduate and postgraduate students attend Dr. Al-Ansi’s lecture series, “Halal Tourism Research and Trends on Sustainability, Technology, and Contemporary.”
At the conference, he spoke on “Halal Value Chain Transformation and Islamic Finance Innovation,” presenting research on the global potential of halal tourism and stressing that AI and blockchain can improve traceability, transparency, and efficiency in the halal value chain.

He also gave four guest lectures titled “Halal Tourism Research and Trends on Sustainability, Technology, and Contemporary,” covering Halalan Tayyiban, ESG, AI/blockchain/IoT, Maqasid al-Shariah, and biometric research methods.

During the visit, he discussed sustainable tourism, cross-border hospitality compliance, and non-OIC destination positioning with faculty and students, and received an honorary trophy. The visit strengthened ties between MUST and Indonesian universities such as UNAIR, supporting joint research, postgraduate engagement, and cross-regional academic collaboration.
