At first, Students attended a presentation in the hotel’s multifunctional banquet hall, for an introduction about the MGM brand history and its corporate structure. Via engaging video showcases and interactive Q&A sessions, students gained deeper insights into the management models of luxury hospitality. Students then explored the behind-the-scenes operational areas, including the employee dining facilities and their changing rooms. This allowed them to observe the meticulous workflows that underpin the hotel’s efficient daily operations.

This tour concluded with a focus on the hotel’s art and cultural initiatives. Students admired the Qing Dynasty carpet “Jiulong Jixiang Babao” (Nine dragons and Eight Auspicious Symbols) which was displayed in the lobby, witnessing how MGM Cotai perfectly blends art and hospitality. From the giant digital art installations at the Spectacle Plaza to the delicate curated artworks in hotel lobby, every detail reflects the hotel’s commitment to quality and guest-centric service.

“This visit gave me a tangible understanding of internal hotel operations, reinforcing what I’ve learned in class. The attention to every details of MGM Cotai makes me impressed. I think this experience was extremely invaluable,” said Lihanbo Liu, a student participant. Another students, Xinyou Ye, added, “I had limited knowledge about hotel management previously, but this tour taught me so much. From logistics to reception service, every aspect operates in an orderly manner, which requires exceptional teamwork and coordination. This left me in awe.”

The study tour provided students with a valuable opportunity to bridge theory and practice, offering profound insights into modern hospitality operations and future industry trends. It also served as a practical reference for students’ career development in this hospitality field.
