On 10th February 2026, students from Class D2 of the “Rooms Management” course at the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), visited the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau under the guidance of Dr. Salott Chau. At the beginning of the visit, the representatives from the Resorts introduced the group to the company’s background, service values, and the overall layout of the resort. Students gained a general understanding of how a large resort is managed and how high service standards are maintained across different hotel brands. After the introduction, students were led to the Jardim Secreto garden area for taking a group photo.

During the visiting tour, students were divided into two groups and guided to visit three hotels in the resort: Grand Lisboa Palace Hotel, Karl Lagerfeld Hotel, and Palazzo Versace Macau. They visited both standard rooms and luxury suites in each hotel and experienced different room design, layout, and service style across hotels with different brand positions. At the Grand Lisboa Palace Hotel, guestrooms feature blue-and-white colors and Portuguese-style tiles, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The Karl Lagerfeld Hotel combines black-and-gold tones with both Eastern and Western design elements, giving the rooms a modern and elegant look. At Palazzo Versace Macau, Medusa symbols, bold colors, and gold decorative details highlight the hotel’s strong brand identity and luxury style.

Throughout the visit, students actively interacted with representatives and asked questions about daily operations. For example, one students ask about how to maintain the standard service level when guest volumes are high during public holidays. Representatives explained that work schedules and procedures are planned in advance, and employees receive cross-training so they can support different departments when needed.

After the visit, Dr, Chau emphasized that learning in a real hotel environment helps students better understand the importance of detail in hotel operations and management. She also highlighted that students from different academic backgrounds were able to learn from one another through this direct observation.

Overall, the visit of Lisboa Palace Resort Macau provided students with valuable course experience and a deeper understanding of high-end hotel operations. It also laid a solid foundation for future coursework, internships, and career development in the hospitality industry.
